CEAB Tasks
Public Act 07-242, An Act Concerning Electricity and Energy Efficiency, (View Excerpts.) reconstituted the Connecticut Energy Advisory Board (CEAB) and modified its mission as of June 2007. However, the primary goal for this board remains to encourage competing energy solutions and to provide the opportunity to review multiple energy solutions simultaneously.
Board responsibilities and duties specified by this legislation include:
Developing RFP exemption criteria for CEAB RFPs.
Performing net energy analyses on certain proposals in response to CEAB energy alternative RFPs.
Performing a critical infrastructure review of some currently operating energy facilities.
Approval and review of OPM's annual plan regarding improving energy management in state buildings.
Reviewing, modifying and improving integrated resource plans submitted by the electric distribution companies.
Conducting a one-time study on the"efficacy, innovativeness and customer focus of electric conservation programs".
Conducting a one-time study of various energy issues in the state including energy entitities, achieving RGGI and Climate Change Action Plan goals, and promoting indigenous alternative fuel resources.
